Help me pic a gift for some soon to be new parents!

Hi All,

My brother and his wife have recently announced that I am going to gain a new little neice or nephew soon and subtly managed to crowbar in the fact that they could use a better camera as well!

So the mission is - recommend a camera for my parents to buy them for christmas. My brother liked the look of my Panasonic FZ8 but I think would really like something a bit smaller. I was looking at something like the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS.

£200 approx budget - any ideas??

Or an Ixus 70 upwards, new ones with IS are supposed to be cool. I have an Ixus 30 and it was great in "it's day"

Thankyou both - I will have a look at the IXUS although I think they'd like a bit more zoom capability.

Matty777 - thanks, I have responded in that thread too saying that I've been happy with my FZ8 which is an older version of the one you recommended! As I say - I get the impression my brother would prefer something a little sleeker.

After all, you said your brother was about to become a Dad, I can assure him from personal experience that certain, shall we say, marriage niceties, are about to go out of the window for some time

I ahem don't remember the cost but my husband bought me a Ricoh Caplio R7 & it is fab!

Daysleeper how right you are LOL I have a 5 month old & a 2.5 year old!
