Help me find a coat please

I looking for a coat that will be primarily for the winter but needs to also be wearable in other seasons should the need arise

Looking for something that is water proof/resistant

A 3 in 1 coat would be great, parka style is also good

Looking to spend around the £50 mark

Also I am a big guy and it would need to fit at least a 54 -56 inch chest

Any ideas or suggestions on where I may get a coat that meets the above?

Have tried most of the main retailers, Debenhams, M&S, J Lewis, Amazon but not finding anything

Thanks in advance

Give GoOutdoors a try, the 'discount' card is £5 a year to buy but they're prices can be very good, especially in the sales.

Have tried this place, unfortunately they do not do my size

I'm currently looking out for a new coat - and I'm planning on taking a punt on one of the Military style M65 jackets.

Only drawback is they are not waterproof - although I plan on making it more resistant with Nikwax. Posting more as based on their size chart and their recommendation to buy a smaller size than you normally wear you might be OK with one.

There's always Jacamo as well, I've used them a couple of times in the past.

Thanks guys, unfortunately none of those sites having anything in my size (Which I find kind of strange)

I get quite a bit from http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/
Don't know about your size but worth having a look, I have a couple of jackets from there that are actually guarenteed to stay waterproof for
3 years

Just noticed that Jacamo are owned by J D Williams so I will not be buying from them as J D Williams are on my list of nasty, horrible, dodgy companies that I will never deal with again as long as I draw breath

I bought a 'Mod' fishtail Parka in october 13 and it's fantastic. It's exceedingly warm and has a removeable liner for summer wear and they go up to your size and beyond. I'm a similar size to you and there's plenty of spare room under mine even with a jacket on. The only problem is they aren't cheap, the price starts at around £90 but they are great quality coats and will last for years. I got mine in Green for when I'm out on my scooter but they do come in black a well, have a look here http://www.fishtailparkas.com/ if you can't find anything elsewhere.

IIRC there's a round up of coats for photographers in this week's Anateur Photographer mag

What size chest are you?

Sorry just read it.

Regatta go upto 4xl on some or all of the jackets, but this is only 54 chest still.

Thinsulate spectator cushion? If that's a thermal insulated psych on the arse then that's genius!

A built in flap down arse pad - I want one. A few times each year I need one !

Have you got a link to this one please Robert?

being roughly the same chest size i can sympathise with you ,but your best bet is to seek out a cotton traders retail outlet and see what they have ,or the far better bet and which i use is to find a go outdoors warehouse and try out loads ,i have a jack pyke fishing smock ,don't ask me why its called that its just a camo jacket and its superb ,light in the summer and warm in winter and if it fits me it will fit you .
fishing tackle shops are the places you should be looking as they seem to carry the xxxl sizes we need ,not fashion outlets as they don't
