Help making sloe gin.

I need to go back to Crete some time.

After the sloes have been soaked in the gin for the recommended time, remove them and remove the stones. Yes this is fiddly and takes an age that's why I get OH to do it ☺️ Make up a batch of flapjack mixture and add the bits of sloes to this. Trust me these are delicious, almost as good as the sloe gin:)
I don't normally bake TBH, cooking isn't a problem but baking always seems to be for some reason, however that sounded far too good to miss out on.

I've had to decant the gin and sloes, into 2 containers, to add the sugar, so I pulled out a couple of oz of sloes, found a simple basic recipe substituted the raisins for sloe's
and if the pre-bake mixture is anything to go by, it should taste rather nice :)
Its in the oven ...

.....And I'm happy to announce they are more than edible, but I think I should have doubled up on the sloes, perhaps not, they are far too more-ish as they are ;)

So, no point in suggesting a layer of chocolate on top?

They are very moorish indeed. I do put quite a lot of the sloes in the mixture and use less sugar, don't like them too sweet, the sloes taste great. I am in the dog house this year as I didn't bother making any sloe gin as I've still got a couple of bottles from last year. OH tends to avoid alcohol as he is on morphine and it doesn't mix to well. Happy eating and drinking

I'm not really a fan of chocolate TBH

Thanks I'll try that when I eventually pull all the sloes out (y)

I have a recipe somewhere for flapjacks which is slightly different from usual one. I'll dig it out and post it for you:)
