Help! Magenta colour cast after installing CISS on Epson R2400

I have recently bought a CISS from http://continuous-ink-systems.co.uk/ and got it all installed fine.

When i come to print everything has a magenta colour cast to it which i never had using the Epson Ink Cartriges.

I am using the same paper (Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl) using the profile specifically for my printer i downloaded from the Ilford website and i have not changed any of the print options that i used to use with Epson Ink Cartriges.
 
The problem with CISS systems ( I have 2 ) is that the quality of ink varies and so do the colours.

ended up with a colour calibration system, a Spyder print to get back colour correctness. Different ink suppliers will sell you ink that unfortunately isn't always spot on.

If you print a lot in black and white then try dropping a little black ink in a bowl of water, you will soon find out what cast you will get. It will eiither be greenish or magenta.
 
Well after all my trying yesterday it seems i have completely got rid of the magenta colour cast this morning simply by using a paper profile that doesn't belong to the paper i am using.

Not quite sure how that works but i've printed off 5 photos and they all look exactly as they do on my screen.
 
The profile that you had for your paper would have been done based on the standard ink. You could get a new profile done to work with your particular printer/ink/paper combination.

I did full profiles of all my papers when I changed the R2400's inks to refillable cartridges and to the R300 when I added the CIS. I have refillable cartridges in the HP C6280 too but that hasn't needed any profiles. The big problem I found is that all is ok until you want to try different types of paper! So you go and buy 5 sheets of very expensive textured board and ruin the first 3 !!! I would love to get an R3880 or similar with the big tanks!
 
I've since sent the CISS back for a full refund and bought one from fotospeed and it worked perfectly with no colourcast straight out of the box.

I've only ever heard good things about the fotospeed CISS. How much was it? Was it a 8 or 9 ink kit and how much ink?
 
I have a 24" Epson 7800 fitted with LYSON CIS & the same issue "Magenta colour" cast,
I had remote profiled and now i have a wonderful printer that costs penny's to run,

It is important to note that for best results, each different paper used requires a new profile
the free profiles supplied by Marrutt were not suitable as were not compatible with my Fuji RIP
