Yes
OK, this is the story. I had the trial version of PS CS5 and I loved it. I had the opportunity to order a student version, but silly enough waited until day 20 in my trial period.

Obviously (Murphy has his law in the UK as well doesn't he?) for some reason it took the delivery company twelve days to deliver my box. Got it today (a day after the trial expired). And now it turns out I still need to send a proof of eligibility. Which isn't an issue per se, as I have just sent it, but it will take another week to process.

In the mean time, I have 260 proofs to go through (unexpected job came in this week) and we're leaving on holiday this saturday.

I have my trial version open one last time (you get one time before it closes down) but am not sure if I can just keep it open until Saturday and I have edited all my proofs?

I am sure no-one is as stupid as me, but are there any brilliant creative thinking types out there who might think of a better solution other then me telling hubby dear that we will have to postpone our vacation for a week so I can wait until my license code comes in and I can edit my proofs???????

Well, at least that's an idea I didn't think of. Unfortunately it's after office hours in Belgium.
And you might not believe it from my story, but I usually like to get everything planned and organised immediately ;).

I will try tomorrow.

Am sure there's a dodgy way of doing this.??

download gimp, picasa or paint shop pro as a trial.

If you have another PC download photoshop trial on that machine.

Hi
Can you do a system restore, this will put the PC back to an time before the software ran out
John

Actually, if you email the Student Proof to Adobe using the Adobe website, then you should find that they get back to you within 24 hours despite them saying that it will take longer. Fingers crossed!

Oef! That means that I should get it sometime tomorrow. I'll call them anyway as soon as business hours open. In any case they have the proof in their mailbox. And in the mean time, keeping my last trial version open, works fine as well :D

I had a trial version of LR3, and ordered a full version. Unfortunately it was a little late in arriving, so I kept my trial version up and running for 4 days after the trial expired, without any problems problem.

I suspect the software only checks the date on start up.

Sadly that wont work John as the system date will remain the same.
It will just put the file system back to how it was on a specific date and time.

The only way to change the system date really is to go into the bios, but I wouldn't recommend it, changing it can cause all sorts of mayhem if you don't know what your doing.

you can hibernate your pc and leave the app open - it might work.

if not you can always download the cs4 trial from somewhere , install this and get another 30 days... let's be honest they didn't change that much is photoshop cs5!

Thanks all for the tips! I called the customer helpdesk this morning, and they were very cooperative. The girls immediately went into my request and I have just received all serial numbers. Hurray!!!!!

Glad that it all worked out okay. Adobe can actually be quite helpful considering the size of their organisation.
Now go and enjoy using the software. Can I also recommend that you take the free introductory subscription to Lynda.com - very useful online training to get you up and running fast. You will most probabaly be offered this by email within a few days of registering your software.

I don't think this will work either, I think it'll show a "newer" version installed and not go any further.

Well done you !!...a simple phone call and "Hey presto" !! I`m pleased for you...happy holiday
