HELP HowCan I send large file

not sure but zip defo compresses the file, so try it and see what size it becomes. :thumbs:
 
depends where you are sending it but "ftp" is an option.

to someone can you do it if both on line and I have there IP address?

or upload to some free webspace and give them the link to download.
 
sendspace.com also an option, and its free

If the person receiving the file isn't that technical I'd suggest something like Dropbox.
 
As fabs has mentioned - Yousendit - free for single files upto 100MB

You upload the file, and it emails the link to the other person, they download at their leisure. I tend to email the link to myself, and then copy it into my own email before sending but it's not necessary.
 
I use humyo.com to send pictures to some people.

Just make up an account, use a generic password(not one you usually use), upload them and then tell them how to get it at the other end.

TIFF files can be saved already compressed, that's probably why he doesn't get much more by zipping it. That said many zip programs offer the choice of splitting large files into smaller chunks which can be rejoined later.

indeed, already compressed images like JPG for example will only ever zip down by a small amount (typically 1% i find).
