Help Help with my nikon D300

Hi people i recently bought a D300 after haveing used canon cameras all my life. I do a lot of photography work ie weddings, cars, sports and many more but i dont really know alot about cameras.

So if you have time i couldn'tplease just tell me what i need to do to set my Nikon to sports mode and also portate mode. I mean like what type of shutter speed i need and that sort of stuff

This camera has none of these modes - its a semi-Pro camera and doesn't have "idiot modes"

If you understand exposure you should be able to figure out the shutter speeds needed for Sport (shoot in "S" mode with an appropriate shutter speed).

I suggest you upload the Portrait Picture Control as this gives nice skin tones. Shoot these in "A" mode with a suitable aperture.

Your camera might have come with a manual as well, these are useful to answer these sort of quesions

You might find a D40 would have suited you better if you are used to these sort of modes..?
