hi there,
i am currently studying an AS in photography, and i have a deadline to meet for the end of the term.
i have to produce a peice of coursework based on a theme, my theme is fashion photography and i have chosen to do a peice on high street crime scene fashion.
Has anyone got any ideas of what kind of scenes i could set up and take photographs of because one of them needs to be blown up into an A2 image.
The photograph needs to obviously contain a model which i have already arranged but i need a scene.
For example:- i have one idea of making the model looked gagged and tied to the chair but im not sure of what scene i should have, how the lighting should be and the angle of the photograph so any other ideas of scenes etc please let me know thanks :)

First thought that springs to my mind is trying to re-create the piece of Banksy graffitti that was on the side of a sexual health clinic in Bristol.

Shouldn't be too hard to do if you plug the old Noggin in.

Beyond that, you just need to do whatever you think is gonna work best. Only you know the effect you're trying to create. It's your project so should be your work, not a bunch of ideas you've cobbled together off a bunch of people on the internet lol.

I'm not having a dig, just trying to make you think!

For inspiration look at websites such as DeviantArt Flickr, etc, they have keyword searches so you should definatly find similar images, but dont copy, always try and make an image your own. It's fine to ask for model poses, or light help, but full on "What image should I take" means it wont be your work?

I did AS photography and I got it drilled into me to make mistakes re-try things, think outside the box, but never copy, just re-stating what Gandhi said really.

"high street crime scene fashion" is a great topic! If you can find some "police line do not cross" tape then thats an avenue to go down, something to do with knifes maybe, fake blood, grungy look, hoodies, all sorts off the top of my head.

With the chair Idea, just try it out, find somewhere with an intresting background, could even just be a brick wall, get a chair, sit someone down and just take whatever comes to mind. Good luck!

To be quite honest their are easyer things to do!! But we all love a challenge. Do you have a choose between studio and location? I would mix it up get some props, different cloth's. A girl in my HNC class did the tied to the chair was very funny at the time but you've got to work fast and make sure you pre plan and have all you skeches down and ready to put into practice. Good luck I hope it all goes well for you.

Yes ^ I thought this last night.
Highstreet crime scene is a.....fashion...?
I assume the focus is on selling the fashion the model is wearing, will it fit in with the scene or is the scene more important than the fashion.
This is for A level, theres nothing wrong with being creative but it seems like your jumping over more hurdles than you need to.
I'd be doing chick + posh threads on white...the end:lol:

Good luck with whatever you decide..
