Help For Heroes Charity Event - London 16th January 2010

Great shot of my buddies Andrea, Emiliano and Federico, Juli and I's sponsors from Album Epoca who had a wonderful time at the event. My thanks to all and we will definitely be running 2 more events in 2010 and the venues will be Leicester in the Midlands and Leeds in the North. Watch this space.

Mark has just started getting feedback for the Leeds Event, there are no dates set but this link will show the format of the event we are looking at doing. http://www.markpearsonphotography.co.uk/H4H-Leeds-2010.pdf
Please give feedback as to whether you think it will work. This time we will expect payment upfront, this is due to several people calling off at the last minute in London and Martin having to receive several calls whilst he was passing on his magical knowledge.

Furthermore, Martin has already booked the same hotel in London and entertainment so far for 15th January 2011. Again it will be structured to allow charity supporters who are members of SWPP to still attend the conference classes.

Remember, this is to raise money for a fantastic charity, the bonus is, you get to spend time with some wonderful people as has already been proved.

Thanks Paul. Yes I was dismayed to hear of a negative comment of me on my phone for a few seconds at a time 4 or 5 times during the seminar day. I was having to deal with people who had been invoiced after promising to come to the event and then sending texts or voicemails at the very last minute. My apologies but let me make this crystal clear. I had to underwrite this event personally and do my best to keep the costs down to maximise the profits. That is why I was on the phone and I made this clear on the day!

This scenario is precisely why a few make it difficult for others whose word is their bond. To the genuine people who had to cancel I say I haver no problem. As a result of this payments will have to be made UP FRONT to secure places on future events. We will be in a position to take deposits for London H4H 2011 very shortly. This will mean that when it comes closer to the day all will have been settled and costs can be tightly controlled.
 
I have looked at the link for the Leeds days, looks like a good way to cover both those who have done studio and people photography and those to whom it is new.

Good idea trying for a place with the spa facilities as well - will encourage a lot more spouses to go along for a weekend away plus the party will mean they can spend time together - and if the photographers want to talk shop all night the non photographers can find plenty of people in the same boat to comiserate with them :lol:

The buckets and wristbands alone raised a big chunk of cash. Myself, John Whitmore and Nedine even went upstairs into the pub itself and walked around all the customers asking for donations.

If it's got to be done, then it's got to be done :)
 
Ok Guys and Gals.

Just an update on the Help For Heroes Leeds Charity Fund Raiser 2010.

The dates are as follows:

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March 2010.

Get these dates blocked out in your diary! :)

Full details will be posted in due course but I can let you know - this is going to be an absolute belter of a weekend.
