help cs2 raw

and is trying to get the add on for his mac to be able to process raw from a canon. he has been on the adobe site but is coming up blanks. is there anyone out there who either has the patch or knows where to get it and then how to get it to work with cs.
 
Search for camera RAW plugin for that camera.

Newer camera raws wont work on older copies of photoshop though, even with the plugin.
 
As Crazy Dino said, it depends which Canon model you are trying to process. There have been various updates to Adobe Camera Raw, but the latest updates are not compatible with earlier versions of Photoshop (thankyou Adobe).

If the camera you are using is a lot newer than CS2 then you may need to upgrade your version of Photoshop or go the Adobe DNG route - download Adobe DNG convertor. This will allow you to convert your Canon CR2 files to Adobe DNG raw files, which you can load with CS2.
 
so that being alot newer than cs2 meaning he may have to buy another photoshop?
 
Otherwise, he could use the software that came with the camera to pre-process and/or convert to TIFFs.
 
whats so different with these files raw to earlier canons has it all changed that much?
 
has anyone contacted adobe at all with regards to this?
 
There is a really useful sticky at the top of this forum, that tells you exactly what you need to do, as this issue comes up loads.
