Help cant import photos in raw format

Not sure what I am doing wrong, just changed my camera from a 450d to 5dmk2 and have tried to import pictures. I have elements7 and CS4.I normally import and organise my pictures in elements. I connected up camera as usual via usb lead download box appeared and I thought all my pictures were transferred only to find that it only transferred jpeg files and not CR files ?. Any ideas:bang:
 
Have you checked that you have the correct version of ACR to read the 5DII files? You may need to download an updated version from the Adobe website.
 
Thanks for that info, I think you are spot on, I have gone to the adobe website and I think I need a plugin called version 5.7 I will download and then attempt to open.
 
download was in a zip file and my winzip trial has run out so I have downloaded a alternative called jzip and unzipped the file but it still has not fixed problem:bang:seem to be digging a big hole for myself here :bonk: Help
 
Ensure the 5.7 plug-in is in the right place for your operating system.

Hi

If you look on adobe's site, there should be instructions where you need to put the unzipped file - you need to replace the file that is there with this new one.

If you can't find it I'll have a look when I get in later and try to post the link up
