Yes
Ok, so I keep buying gear, camera gear that is. I still have no bag, I keep bidding on the bay but loosing :| . I think I've decided on a Crumpler Pretty Boy XXXL. Problem is, I hate buying stuff that isn't a great deal. Does anybody know where to find a bargain? Yes, before I'm asked, I have looked.

Morris photo have good prices on Crumpler and offer a good service. They also sell a lot of oddball stuff that's difficult to find elswhere, I like them.

A quick word of warning on Crumpler bags. While they are very good quailty (I've got a "Bens Pizza" XXL myself) you should take their notion of just what will fit in them with a large pinch of salt:lol: If it states that it will take a body and three lens's it probably will.....but only if you want to carry three nifty fifty's at the same time:lol:

Oh, ermmmmm. What should I go for then? I read the review on the XXXL and thought it would do the job... Advice please :-)

Funny you should mention that one, I was looking at that on Wednesday, on offer for £49 at Jessops, missed it though and, its not exactly nice looking either. Is it a good bag, I haven't a huge amount of kit, yet.

Yeah it's a great bag, I've got one, find it very handy for carrying stuff, plus you can change lenses in the bag if you need to, for a bit of extra protection.

I look sexy in mine, you must be wearing it wrong  :exit:

It'd probably be a bit big for you if you don't have a great of kit, but it's something to grow into?

I get in mine, sigma 10-20, nifty 50, 70-300, D80 with the 28-100 attached, the SB600 and my F55, plus memory cards, filters and all the other random crap I've collected :D

You could always look at the 200aw to save a bit of cash and get a smaller size perhaps?

I've always gone with Lowepro...took a Lowepro laptop rucksack out to the Gulf with me on deployment, and have had a Micro-Trekker and now have a Mini-Trekker. I rate them as bomb-proof...

No, but you wouldn't guess, haha......

I've been waiting for somebody to say 'here, this is exactly what you need and you can buy it off me, cheap as chips...' Its just not happening though

Kata DR465 if you want a compact backpack. otherwise, check out the computer store like www.cancomuk.com and check the sale/falling price auction section to see if there are any crumpler bags going cheap - a mate got a £45 laptop bag off that site for £18 a while back.

i got my crumpler xxxl from SRS Microsystems it is quite small though ive currently only got a 400d and 50mm, 28-105mm lenses and i could probably only fit a flash or another smallish lens in - really nice bag though

Well, I have the Daily XXXL (which I think is their largest shoulder bag) and I loaded it up for a job earlier this week with the following: (excuse the gear porn list)

1 x Nikon D50 with Siggy 70-200mm f/2.8
1x Nikon F90x + grip with 24-120 mm
1x 2xTC
1x 50mm f/1.4D
1x Siggy 10-20mm
1x 18-55mm DX
1 x SB600 speedlight
1 x 17" DELL inspirion 1721 lappy + power supply & mouse
Cleaning kit & puffer
4 rolls of film
Spare batteries
lens hoods
mobile phone
mp3 player
torch
wooly hat
some butties & a packet of C&O crisps
bottle of water
various cables

It weighed a ton but it was all safely packed and manageable

we have a naneu correspondant.
no , i hadnt heard of em either.
not sure which model, possibly 300 having measured it. but we get a 350d , a 5d,with lenses ,a 580 and a 430 flash, plus shed loads of batteries, cards, cloths widgets etc,in it to do our wedding carting.
pretty tough , and loads of pockets. real good vfm.
go for the bigger one. you know you,ll fill it in time.
we also have a kata rucksack which is realy usefull when your out and about.

TKMaxx often get Crumplers cheap if you have one local. I run a Geekstar which I haven't seen for a while in the shops but it has plenty of room and looks like a satchel size bag.

I've also rated Lowepro bags for a while now. I've just replaced my nova 5 with a Vertex 200aw. Massive bag, but I can JUST get everything into it. Including the D300 with grip and 70-200mm.
