I've burned a slideshow of images onto DVD but once they are on the tv the quality is awful!

What's not right? How do I fix this? Help!

What software did you use to create the slideshow. How big are the pictures?

If you give us more detail we can see where you went wrong.

the images are 4272 x 2848 pixels and i used windows DVD maker

Thanks Phil

Well you're asking windows DVD maker to resize your files, so you should look at the settings to see what you can do to help it make the right decisions. You might decide to batch process the files down so that DVD maker will leave them alone.

Is there better software that will perhaps leave them in large sizes? Or a better way of doing it?

It's pointless leaving them large. DVD isn't even a HD medium. So a height of 720 is plenty. You'll need larger than that if you want to put zooms and scrolls in, obviously.

Try a batch process to resize them and have another go. The software is doing a lot of work reducing those large files down to tv size.

If youre not familiar with resizing there's a free download called irfan view that'll do it and is easy to use.

Thanks for your help phil - in the end i have supplied a HD slideshow on a USB Flashdrive on top of the CD of images in a nicely presented box.

At the extra expense of only £5 i would rather they got the quality they will expect and it's saved me being late for delivering today! I will investigate getting the DVD things to work now in my own time.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

See if you can get hold of a copy of PhotoDVD Maker Pro, it's fairly easy to find and is a great program to use. I've done quite a few 'memory' dvd's for people for parties, weddings and the like.

I scanned some old photos of my uncle when he died, added a background track of my cousin singing her dads favourite song and put them all onto a disc for my aunt. I got some printable discs to do it on as well for the final touch.

Nice one thank you il look into it tomorrow :)
