I used my Nikon EM with 50mm series E lens yesterday, the film was an OOD Fuji Superia 200 (July 2006), as it is the first time I have used the camera body and the film has not let me down like this before your veiws would be appreciated as to the problem. The shots are 1,2, 21,22, and ,35 36 from a 36 exposure roll, resized from CD.

The last 2 shots look ok. Looks like the film with the vertical lines on has been partially exposed to some light.

Thanks Dave, that,s what I was hoping.

frame numbers are not an issue Richard - you need to remember how much time between shots... perhaps the longer gaps equate to most leak?

Hi Arthur,
does that mean it could be a camera body problem?

Check the seals on the camera door (on the back). Often the foam seals deteriorate into mush which reduces their effectiveness. Don't worry, they can be replaced at little cost and effort.

That would be my guess - given the uniformity of the problem. As said above, check your seals.

Thank you all, I have decide to have a go and replace all the light seals and see what happens.

i actually look quite dapper in that 2nd shot, cheers rich :D

I always use this fella in the states,

Interslice

Really helpful, quick delivery and a doddle to fit. I just replaced the seals on a Contax, simplicity itself. Don't worry if he hasn't got your camera listed, just contact him through ebay and he'll sort the right kit out for you.

Thanks for that, I did look at these kits, but I managed to buy the material, enough for about 10 sets and cost the same, I have replaced the seals on the EM and will be testing the camera soon.

Excellent, did you have any trouble cutting it to size and where did you source it?

Hi Nick,
My wife is a crafter and I used her guillotine to cut to size and it worked very well, I sourced the material from this company.

What about the shutter, I dunno which way the curtain goes on an EM but if you shot like 10 frames fairly close together, the first 2 could be looseners.
Worth considering since the beer shot has 2 bands in different places.
