Hello again people. Let me set a scene, I'm new to the world of photography and have a very limited budget ( first mortgage, bills, crippling, sure you get the idea!)

I bought a 20D last week, then a kit lens for it. I need a better zoom lens for taking pictures at motorsport events. I have found this lens on the net, in mint condition for £109 plus P+P. Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, Canon EF Fit.
Is it a wise buy or are there better buys to be had?

All advice greatly appreciated, aslong as its in simple terms :cuckoo:

Chris....without savagely upping your budget then this might be as good as it gets for now. You'll have to accept that the results won't always be comparable with others that you see here.

Hi Chris, as long as it's the APO version of this lens, i've not heard a bad word against it for its price and £109 is a good price for it too.

That's pretty much it. Is it a great lens, nope. Is it worth £109, easily.

It's not at all bad and used with some attention to detail will produce some really good pics.
