Hello all,
just signed up after reading some great stuff on your site and also some great reviews.
I am a real amateur photographer/sculptor/painter/DIYer/bodger etc. etc.

Just pushed the button on some Redsnapper equipment as I have been researching tripods for ages and thanks to your reviews I have gone for the RSF 284 with RSH 12 ballhead, having only ever owned cheap tripods before I am really looking forward to receiving these goodies.
I also ordered the mini studio and reflector as I take a lot of pictures of my sculptures and I am fed up with poor quality backgrounds and lighting so hope this will help me improve.
I own a Canon EOS 450d with kit 18-55 + Tamron 55-200, most of my photography is either my sculpture/painting or landscape especially the Spanish countryside, most of my pictures are average but some are great !!
I am hoping to learn more about framing and composition and I am thinking of getting a prime lens, 50mm probably, what do you think? ( not expensive!!)
I am also thinking about some kind of remote release for my new tripod, again any recommendations would be appreciated.
Anyway, nice to meet you all .
 
If this is the friendliest forum on the internet I would hate to see what an unfriendly one is like !

Good to have you here and I hope you make yourself at home.

Things do sometimes tend to get overlooked a little in the welcome forum, but I promise you that we're a friendly bunch at heart.
Get stuck in, put some photos up on the forum and join in with some of the discussions. It really is an active forum out there :)

I have just bought some new equipment including a 50mm prime lens, so playing at the moment !! if I can understand it all ???

Don't worry I'm sure you'll get the hang of it all :)
Plenty of helpers around if you get stuck, but the important thing is to make sure that you have some fun while you're practicing with it.

Looking forward to seeing some of your shots on the forum.

Hello Rich and thank you for your welcome, there are some fantastic photo's on here and I am feeling a bit depressed after seeing so many, so will continue browsing around for a while.
