Just to say hello!

I'm new to digital photography with my Canon 1100D and new to this Forum.
I must say that I have been browsing a few photgraphy forums over the past couple of weeks and I kept coming back here.

Hence my decision to register here rather than anywhere else.

I've also started to retouch some shots with GIMP and here they are ...

I linked these shots from flickr but I could only link these small images - the larger versions which I had already resized to be less than 800 didn't work. I imagine that this is because of the differences between free/paid account with flickr!!

On the other hand, this image is linked from a website I have.

And it comes out full size!!

And this one from Facebook .....

And it works too!!

Anyway, it's a start.

Cheers

Hi Dave,
Thanks for replying.
Was I right about the image size issue?

And also (and this really is a newbie question I suppose) is sharpness affected by the use of the lens? I mean, a short lens (50mm) compared to a long lens (300mm) and of course with a static subject, no camera shake and fast shutter speed. In otherwords, is this a physics thing rather than a photographer thing?
