Hi everyone,

Just a quick hello from me. Been a member for a while but not done much posting until now.

Bought myself a D3100 with kit lens a few months ago and haven't looked back. Having lots of fun with it. Just started attending Ice Hockey games with the official photographer of the club I support (which I was really lucky to get into!) and started dabbling - unfortunately i've fallen in love with sports photography now so had to break the news to my wife that I need an f2.8 lens!!

Am going to be floating around here every few days to pick up some tips from the experienced users on here and maybe post a few questions - so thanks to everyone in advance!!

Thanks for the welcome Andrea - am looking forward to getting my new lens and getting some samples up. Having to put up with some absolutely screaming noise on my pictures at the minute using my 55-200mm f4-5.6 lens indoors. Can't wait to get a more 'professional' lens.

What lens are you getting? A 70-200mm f/2.8 would probably be ideal for ice hockey.

Would love to go for the Nikon VRII model but at almost £1700 its just too much out of my price range at the minute - and that Sigma OS model seems to be getting rave reviews.
