Hello all im Liam. fairly new to Photography been snapping for many years but only bought my first D-SLR just before Christmas.

I bought my self the Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm Vr Lenses
very happy with it. :)

Welcome.
Like you I'm new to DSLR, I too have D3100 with 18 55.
Been pleased with results so far but can not quite get close enough to subjects without physically moving in real close. Not recommended in Manchester city centre. So have just sent for 16 85 lens so here's hoping it will be good for most shots in and around town which is my favourite subject.

Kathymay hi yes i think it is a good camera, and agree cant get close with out being close, although i have some good shots using my 200 zoomed in you then have to be 3 foot or so away have a look in the macro section at Barrie the bee :) i took a shot of him yesterday very pleased with it :)
