Hello,

Just recently bought a camera, 3 days ago to be exact. Im no photographer really but would like to get into this somemore. Have ben out every night since buying it snapping away and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Maybe get a few tips and tricks from here, that would be nice, plus seeing other peoples work is always inspirational.

Looks like you have a Canon S95?

If so, is it really as good as they say? Read some excellent reviews of it, but can't believe a compact can come anywhere close to a DSLR (which is what some claim about this camera).
 
hey guys thanks for the welcome,

Rambler, the photo quality is excellent, perhaps i can post a few of my newbie attempts for you to have a look at. Its very flexible as a camera, many cool functions and will also shoot in Raw. However the zoom at x 3.8 is a bit of a let down for nature shots. Most animals dont appreciate a camera stuffed in there faces, and as a result dont hang about to get close enough!

Its never going to be the same as a DLSR though, and i think to have a comparrison mindset would only end in disapointment. I wanted (or rather the missus did) a fantastic camera that we could carry around in a pocket, as far as those requirements go, imo, this camera is amazing!!

If you like ill try and post some shots i took yesterday for you to see.
