new to this site and the tech site of photography. Mostly took photographs until i got them how i wanted them to look picking up things as i went along possibly not the best idea but know i am wanting to learn more about how eerything works iv been looking at this site for a while and think it is a ideal place to learn things at my own pace, anyway just made this thread to introduce myself and to ask a a few questions, firstly my brother borrowed my camera to take some photos of his new car and when i got it back the auto focus does not work at all just makes a horrible noise when i do it manually it sticks in certain places anyone know what this could be my camera is a nikon D40x rather old now which brings me onto my next question i'm going to university this september and i am going to purchase a new camera i have been saving for quiet a while so do have some cash set aside for this, so if anyone has any preferences to which cameras or the best at the moment please comment back.
