Sam's the name. Thought I'd finally join this place to get the most out of it. I'm currently at home post op bored and running out of things to do and read. I share the same username at ocuk forums, where I got to learn about here.
I've always had in interest in photography despite hating having my pictures taken since being a kid. So I thought staying behind the camera was the way to avoid getting snapped mself. I've self taught myself from books and forums.
Had a Fuji f31d costing £400 (can't believe I spend that much back then) back in college a few years ago, when I was the guy to take pictures at parties, for leavers' mags etc. Did nothing photography-wise during uni. More recently last year, post gf-breakup, I decided to invest my newfound time in something and bought a D40 kit and a copy of Understanding Exposure.
Over the last 18 months, I have acquired a Nikkor 50/1.8d, Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 HSM, Redsnapper RHS-283, Crumpler 5500, and various accessories. Looking to get an UWA lens by the end of the year 2nd hand here, a D90, a flashgun and maybe a replacement for the kit lens. Expensive hobby!
