Hello,
Just to say hello to everyone here,my name is Steve,happy chap,working just
having recently had 2 heart attacks.
I am on the mend and always been intrigued with what can be done with skill and a
camera,I decided to invest in some equipment.I am not very good yet but it is
still very early days and I hope to improve.
I am looking forward to conversations,I will be listening and I hope learning!

Hi Steve,

welcome to the mad house! I'm a fairly new member myself, just accumulating equipment and starting out on the trail since retiring end of August.

I'm starting to learn and have joined a club to gain knowledge, but so far just made new friends and seen other photographs in competitions.

There should be a local club that you can get your teeth into and it may help. Where are you located ?

Also I have been reading all the photo magazines for the last few months and reading several books. You can get lots of info from video presentations on this site and also can take a look at 'D-Town TV' and 'DSLR Tips'. I am looking at these all the time and particularly at lighting set ups.

What camera do you have so far?
 
Hi Steve, welcome to Talk Photography. Glad to hear your "on the mend" and started your way in photography, it can be a great way to relax apart from when you look at the cost of the latest cameras and lenses.
 
Hello, Steve.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I find photography very relaxing, stalking red pandas is a perfect way of unwinding after a week slaving over a hot IBM Power I.
