Just joined this forum so thought I would say hello.
I have a Fuji S9500 and the majority of the pics I take are of my 3 year old son.
To be honest I'm really struggling to get to grips with the camera, and the results of my pics are very inconsistent.

Can any one please give me some tips on the settings I would find best for taking action shots of him out side please, say for example on day where it's sunny.

Here's a couple of pics I have taken of him.

I have the same camera and I'm still learning too :) you'll get bucket loads of help here!
I'm still unsure about what buttons to press myself.

Do you have any image editing software? it will help enhance your efforts.
Thats a cute boy you've got there!
I had a go with editing one of them to see if I could bring it up a bit, there are others here who could do a better job though:D

It's sertainly a lot sharper and lighter, looks a lot better thank you.
I do have photo shop.

The photo you enhanced has just made me laugh as I can see the fake tan on his arms.

In the early hours of the morning while I was a sleep he went to the bathroom and took a bottle of his mums fake tan of the shelf and covered him self in it. lol
 
That's little boys for you :lol: he looks so cheeky in that one and like butter wouldn't melt in the others.
 
He is the reason I decided to buy a camera, all I need to do is learn how to get the most out of it.

He is a proper little poser and absolutely loves having his picture taken.
We have had several professional photos of him done, and they have turned out amazing and he loved every shoot.
 
I'm sure others will be along in the morning to give you some advice on settings for the action shots that you want to take of him.
