Hello there, really just getting into photography properly. I have got a nice wee compact which can take some nice pictures but im realistically looking to buy a DSLR.
Looking at either a nikon or a canon but being a poor student i dont really have a lot of money to spend at the moment so i was looking into second hand camera's, saw a well priced canon eos 20d the other day, any thoughts? Or suggestions as to what to go for?
Anyway hoping to learn a lot here!

hi and welcome

good to start with something with good controls and a viewfinder at eye level too
a dslr would be the upper range
a bridge will do the job without having too many lenses...or cost

Thank you for the reply and the welcome.
At the moment im using a fujifilm finepix S1500 and getting some nice results but i was considering moving to the likes of a nikon D40 or something equivalent. Any reccomondations?

Hi Charlie

It's a sad fact that photography is a very expensive hobby. Have a real good look around and do some serious research and set a budget. Buy what you can afford and progress naturally. I wish you much luck and Welcome to TP
