Just saying hello having just joined the forum.
I have owned a Canon 350d for about 2-3 years. Initally a gift from my wife my plan was to pop it on the end of the telescope. However, it has spent 99% of its time snapping away at all of those family things- holidays, kids first steps etc. I do make a real effort to use the "M" on the dial when I can but do find the green square handy. I am also still in the realms of jpeg but in due course plan to investigate RAW!
I have the stock lens and bought a second hand sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 zoom lens.
My main reason for joining is that I need the help an online forum can give. A birthday cheque went towards a subscritpion to practical photography which I have found very interesting and a forum seemed a good way to explore this further.
A busy family life meant that time to contribute to a forum was limited and that delayed my registration. What has pushed me to register was the recent loss of autofocus on my 350d. I have scanned the net but I have not been able to find a fix. I am now in the mindset of a new camera and so thought that the forum would be great for the numerous little questions I have not yet got an answer for!
