Hi folks, I finally joined TP after reading for a few weeks and thought it best to introduce myself. My names Dougie and I renewed this hobby with the purchase of my first Dslr two years ago. In my teenage years I shot mostly B&W film and learned to develope and print it myself. I'm now having to learn digital manipulation on the PC and I'm hoping TP can help me with this as I don't find it at all easy. (it's an age thing I think):) Looking forward to a natter with some of you and looking at your work.

I don't have any particular areas of interest. I just get a buzz from taking a good shot. This one gave me a particular buzz ;) (excuse the pun)

I'm here to learn so I've no objections to critique.

Regards
Dougie

So far I've only really used NX2 Capture to do basic editing. I'm not even sure if cloning is possible with that but I will look into it.
Thanks MRCROW.. and thanks for the welcomes above also. :)

had a go with nx2...it is a bit fiddly for me and i couldnt figure it out in a short space of time...

you can always clone in photofiltre free download....its easier there...then save back to your nikon suite..

Downloaded photofilter and had a go at cloning. Unfortunately on my first attempt my PC hung and on my second attempt, well let's just say I think I have a steep learning curve. So with that in mind would anyone like to show me what can be achieved with the above pic? Yours in antisipation.:)

cropped and cloned out stuff and put in stuff...total lies
framed it and sold it for £100
i am a cheat

;)

Only £100? I'm sure you could have done even better if I had sent you the original in RAW ;) It's interesting to see what can be achieved in all seriousness. I'm sure the technique will come in handy once I master it. Thanks for taking the time to do that

I'm please to have been of some help and since I hadn't worked on this particular photo before I had a wee play with it too.

Here is my take on it using NX2 Capture
