Hi there - I'm Myky D.
I'm new to "grown-up" photography - I've had point n' clicks since I were a nipper, and always felt the need to try and reach beyond their range. Last year my father - a keen hobbyist photographer - finally walked me through the basics with his 1964 Nikon, and then I was absolutely blown away when my girlfriend bought me a Canon EOS 450D for Christmas.
I've been having fun ever since, but am a little bit stupid, a little bit shy, and will no doubt be on here asking many a stupid question. I don't like using anything other than the fully manual mode on it, though - the only thing I generally let it do automatically is focus:
This is my Flickr gallery.
My early stuff on there is from a Konica Minolta PNC, then the Canon stuff comes in on the latest three or four pages.
I'm currently inspired by Film Noir and "graphic novels" - high contrast, black and white stuff, and also industrial, urban decay/urban landscapes.
I'd be interested to hear what any of you have to say about my stuff.
I hope to be a regular on these boards, and look forward to conversing with some of you!
Myky D
