Hi to everyone from me. I am in the North East UK. I currently have a Sony Alpha100, but have on order a EOS 1Ds Mk3. I am awaiting a phone call from my friendly dealer when it arrives. I am really excited about it. It will probably be January or maybe February when I get it. I have been looking through this site, and it seems to be full of friendly and knowledgeable people. I have been into photography for about 40 Years now, and done all the second hand cheapies.....through to Zenith B's, Canon A1, and various odd bods of the camera world. I shall probably never again in my lifetime have the resources to be able to splash out on a top of the range camera.....so I am doing it now. Nice to meet you all.

It was great value for money in those days. I remember it being built like a tank. Mine was well abused during its lifetime, and it never let me down. If you were rich you could get the Zenith E with light meter above the lens mount. If....like me....you were poor, you had to make do with the Zenith B with no metering facilities. I had to make do with the film manufacturers recommendations for the lighting conditions prevalent at the time. Eventually I saved up enough to enable me to buy a lightmeter....details of which I cannot remember now. Ahhh Happy carefree days. I suddenly feel so old....lol
