Hi All,
My names Matt, i'm 30 and a newb (i think that's the correct slang) in photography. I have promoted myself up from a point and shoot and want to learn to take some nice images as a creative outlet and an opposite outlet to my dull job in sales LOL.
I have a nice little entry level Nikon D3000 with a couple of lens given to me recently. 18-55mm Kit lens bought with the camera and 2 donated Nikkor lens, 55-200mm and a 35mm f1.8, both very well appreciated.
I have take some images with them and as you can imagine they are pretty pants at the moment so I started reading some more to help improve my technique.
I have been doing some study on the subject of Photography and believe i understand the very basics of it all, i.e. aperture, shutter speed, iso, basic camera setting, white balance etc.
My aim is to take a mixture of different medium, landscape, portraits, more artsy type pictures all for fun, so I've been reading about the basics of these subject too. I have start reading a little bit about light/lighting and boy do I feel completely overwhelmed with this hobby now LOL.
But, patience is a virtue so I'll keep pressing on, putting the practice in and hopefully improve bit but it.
Matt
