Hi
Seeing as this is my 1st post, a brief history about my journey into the highly addictive [and expensive!] world of photography
I never knew about this place until last night when a fellow togger asked me if I used the Talk Photography forum as I was setting up my gear to take a few shots by Saltburn Pier. So, I figured I may as well register here
My "addiction" started about 5 or so years ago when I invested in my 1st decent camera, a Canon S3IS bridge camera, and I was hooked from day 1!
Jump forward 2 years to when I got my 1st DSLR, a Canon 350D, a cracking little camera, which produced some awesome shots, and, which I was sad to see go when I upgraded to my Canon 30D
The 30D had only been in my camera bag a few months when my current camera [Canon 50D] came along at a price I could't refuse. I debated long & hard about buying it, well, for a good 30 seconds, then blew my "new lens fund" on it & wasn't disappointed
I currently only own 3 lenses [18-55mm IS, 55-250 IS and 50mm f/1.8], and have had these since the 350D days. They do the job pretty well, and much as I'd like some better glass, the wife would kill me if I bought any more
Recently, after being told many times I'm a pretty good photographer [I consider myself average] I've taken the scary leap into the self employed world as a photographer
...so, there you have it, a very brief history
