Hi Guys,

New to photography forums, been pointed here from a car forum by a couple members. Little about me: My name is Grant, aged 23, working a crummy 8-4 and doing nothing with my degree in architecture.

Shooting with a 600d, stock lens + a 50mm. Hoping to upgrade to a 85mm (either 1.8 canon or 1.4 samyang) asap so any thoughts from your experience would be great.

I look forwards to learning things from you all and becoming a better photographer for it.

Main photographic interests: Portraiture, Landscapes, Night shooting and Car Photography.

Thanks chaps, any thoughts on the Samyang 1.4 85mm vs the Canon 1.8 85mm? Do you think the extra F stop on the samyang is worth losing the mechanical focus? I'm drawn towards the manual focus samyang just due to the fact its 1.4 but would love some insight!

Thanks Keith. A while back I was looking for Edinburgh Photography clubs but none really jumped out at me! Will check out that part of the forum!
