I've been meaning to join a photography forum for a while now, just haven't found the time to do it ;)

But finally I Googled photography forum and this came up, so here I am!

My name is Michelle, I'm live in Essex, and work from home as a website designer. I have always loved photography. I put myself in the complete novice category, and want to start taking my photography up a few notches.

I love taking pictures of nature since it is all around me and I'm fortunate enough to live near to some lovely forests, plus my garden is offering some nice shots at the moment as well. I also go nuts when we go on family trips to the farm or zoo :D

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 and so far am just pointing and shooting stuff without playing about much with any settings as still learning to use them.

I do tinker about with my photos in Paint Shop Pro X2, I should get into Photoshop, but again, never found the time, PSP works fine for me at the moment!

Here's a picture of a pumpkin that grew in my garden and I've messed about in PSP with it, and by altered I mean I threw the dice on the filter thing and I liked what I saw :p

This is a great place to start learning, have a look around the tutorial section for starters, there's some informative stuff there that will help you understand a lot more about your camera and how to can achieve different effects and why :)

Ahh, the wonders of photography, the pumpkin actually really small (especially compared to the other one growing in my garden!) :D

Thanks for the welcome. I've take a look in the share your photos section and am in awe of some of the amazing shots!

I'm going to gather some of my favourite photos and share them over the coming days/weeks.
