Hi All

I'm new to the forums / platform! I'm from Lincolnshire, shoot with Nikon DSLR & Mirrorless & hybrid [F<>Z or F2Z] Main interest is Nature & landscape but generally if it's a post regarding photography, I'm interested.

I've been looking through parts of the forums and was triggered to join when I saw someone wanting a Nikkor 300mm F2.8 PF - I was told that I couldn't reply until a member, so I joined & now told & have to be a member for 30 days & make 20 posts [with no links] Oh well, I guess I'll get there but whether the OP is still actively "wanting" by the time I'm able to respond is questionable. My wife also photographs but her 300mm f2.8 is too heavy for her, that's why it's going.

So........ I saw a Nikon "Z" Mirrorless forum, I think, I'll try to join there and Nature and possibly Landscape too. I hope we'll meet across the forums and have some pleasant and helpful exchanges.

Helpful comments & advice always welcome, thanks. [It's a brave person who knows it all!]

Cheers for now.

Hi Eucris, thanks for your response! NO! :) ~ I have to confess that I saw the "nom de plume" used many years ago on another forum and smiled at it. I tried several other ndp's for here and all had been used - some/many had been dormant for a decade or more! Soooooo ... This one came to mind and here I am :) I'm so very new that I'm not sure what you see & what you don't but on the detail filled in on the application to join, I posted my real name as "Rob" which is correct. I hope we'll correspond across the forums and enjoy photography too.

Hi Rob, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy"

Hi Rob and welcome from south Wales.
Hi Wayne, many thanks for your kind, warm welcome. I hope that we'll meet regularly across the forums analogue or digital; mirrored or mirrorless. I'm sure when I find out a bit more about the forums I'll post a few images for you all to see. Cheers!

Hi George, Many thanks for your warm welcome too! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all more and interact across the forums, I'm sure we all have a lot of experiences and knowledge to share. As said above, as soon as I find out a bit more I'll start to post some images ~ I'm just changing from DSLR to Mirrorless as my main camera [Nikon] for the time being I'm keeping the "F" mounts & slowly move to the "Z" mounts. See you soon!
PS - I hope you'll not mind me being a little cheeky .... When I saw your avatar it reminded me of walking down the high street - the way the hand on the Lego is shaped/gripped, it just reminds me of modern society being obsessed with having to have a drink in hand wherever! I'm old fashioned - really old fashioned coffee for me & it's black or white; strong or normal [white & strong for me, please & if it's proper grounds, black & strong please :) ~ there you go!! - cheeky me :) :)

No I don't mind in the slightest Rob, my avatar actually reflects my past, as I when I was much younger I used to play football back home in TN for the "Tennessee Titans" and that's more or less the colour of the home strip. :) :)

Welcome to the forum Rob. I do use a Sony a7rii but consider myself a large format film user at heart. It's all still photography though.

Morning Jak, Thanks for your welcome too. I'm looking forward to time within this forum, all looks very friendly and inviting. Hoping to see you all soon. [Grandchildren minding for a couple of days! :) ]

Hi George, strange how we reflect back to previous times. Occasionally I see a football team who's strip is very similar to my old house colours when I was at school and then that triggers memories or yesteryear! - A very long time ago 60 +/- yrs ago!
