Hello!
My name's Dean, I'm new to photography, having just bought myself a Nikon D3100 which came with a standard kit lens.
I've also just ordered a 35mm prime
and will be ordering the 70-300mm VR lens next week.

My main interests are abstract photography (long exposures and stuff like that)
and a bit of wildlife (my only test subject is my cat lol)

I have loads of questions and would love to have some feedback from my pictures
Here are some examples of some of the pictures I have taken which I am proud of... feel free to rate or slate.

I also shot my last few pictures in RAW format and here is one which I post-edited in my Nikon software package

hmm what an eclectic mix..............to comment on.....

please promise not to spit a dummy.......

2) has potential, but far too much ambient light to achieve the intended, and far too light traffic....good location though

4) cracking sunset, but the horizon is on the p***

5) Mmm but the cider is on the P***

Welcome to TP... all the above is meant with the best intentions........

3 and 6) lovely, but I am a sucker for cool cats.... and s/he is a cool cat........ get a B&W though and try to metre that!!!

Cool, thanks for the comments guys
Lynton, thanks for your comments, don;t worry I take criticism very well, one of the reason I joined this forum.
I'm a complete amateur so don't expect perfect pictures.
I'd like to learn a few tips and "rules" to photography and I hope this forum can offer this

Welcome Dean. Maisie is cute!

This is a great place to learn and please continue to post photos - though best to do so in the relevant feedback and critique threads as more people will see them there.

The sunset one makes me wish I was away on holiday...:D

Ayup,

Some good shots here, just watch those water / horizons - looks like they could be good for water skiing .

There is a wealth of experience on this site, and most folk are very helpful.
