Hi I have just joined the Site but am struggling a bit to find my well around at present. My intertest is wildlife/landscape photography and am retired. My photography is solely a hobby but I was lucky enough to get the judges choice vote in this years BBC Countryfile Comp. Talk Photography was mentioned by a fellow photographer pal and I am very impressed with all the info there is available

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and just checking in.
I hope to learn a little bit ,and if possible, share any knowledge that I may have (but don't hold your breath) :0)

just a quick hello [rather than opening new topic] from another new member who's been reading for a while.

Hello I'm Mx3 I am starting to get into my 12.1meg. pix camera & wanted to find out/ learn more about pic's.:)

Hi, everyone. My name's Ian, am coming up to 41 and am from Kent, UK. Although I've always been interested in photography all my life, it's only very recently when I treated myself to a Nikon D40 have I been really into it. Now I'm addicted and cannot stop.
This web site was shown to me by another forum user and thought I'd check it out - and I do like the friendly look about it where it's got that "anyone can join in, don't be nervous" kind of feeling about it, along with a lot of excellent photos. In fact, a lot of them puts my own efforts to shame!
In time, once I get to feel my way around this web site, I shall display some of my stuff. But first I'd like to get to know who's the "head boy" and all the "prefects" and of course the regulars. Not to mention checking out all those photos (looks like there's a LOT to shift through so that'll keep me quiet for quite a while)
So, hello there everyone.

Hello and Welcome everyone. Welcome to the party, you realise its like Hotel California, once your here you will never leave

Hello, my name is Lem; I enjoy photography but I am still at the beginners stage, but I am having fun learning the different skills, not very good at the technical stuff just yet apertures, ISO's and shutter speeds etc. Hoping to get ideas and information from the forums...I had better make a start:).

Welcome to the forums Lem!

But didn't Shane kill you with a nade at the end of Series 5? I almost cried at that!
(TV series called The Shield for those that are thinking WTF? :D)

Just thought i'd follow the trend in here and say ello.
I am really into keeping Bonsai and want to learn the basics of photography so i can capture my trees in the best possible way. I also enjoy walking with the family and have some nice walks around here, which has some lovely wild life.
So other than taking pics of my Bonsai, wildlife (mainly birds) is what i want to concentrate on. I don't yet have a camera and am looking around for the best possible camera ( up to £100) to suit my needs.
Cheers Slugone:thumbs:

Hi Talk Photography,
I am new to you and this country.

I am from India.
I obviously am passionate about photography. Loves old manual cameras and started digital too.
Currently I have a 350D with the kit lens and some screw mounted lens like 85f1.9 Takumar, 135f2.8 JCPenny and Russian f3.5, 200 f3.5, 58f2, 35f2.8 and a Pentax K1000 that I bought last Saturday in a car boot sale in Hounslow west.

I love to shoot portrait, landscape and candid/street shots.
I am associated to our own small webpage in India which is www.photos2net.com
Please visit both for me and my friend. Your constructive comments/suggestions will be assets for us.

Some of my shots are in www.flickR.com/photos/juinbrishti

Hi Guys, I've just joined this forum to get some advice from those with knowledge in digital matters. Whats going to give me best quality image;
