Not sure what happens next!!

I'm new to all this, found this website via Colab.

I bought myself a Canon 400D a few months ago and have been on a steep learning curve.

I last used a SLR about 35 years ago (yes I am getting on a bit) and then went to point & shoot. I have now come back to digital SLR and am trying to remember what I know all those years ago.

This is the first forum type website I have used and can't say that I particularly understand what a thread is, however here goes.

If you can only post replies, it seems you may not have activated your account.
When you sign up, you should receive an activation email to the address you supplied. This contains a link you need to click on (Which basically is to prove that the email address you supply is real...it stops false registrations).

I'll take a look at your account for you :)

Yup, I've just checked, and it seems your still 'Awaiting Email Confirmation'.
However, it's not your fault. It seems the email to you got bounced back to us by your ISP (Their fault).

So I've manually activated your account, and you should be able to post new threads and upload pictures to your gallery space now :thumbs:
 
Can a say a BIG hello to all the new folk, I do try and keep up, but I've been very busy past 2 weeks and i know I've missed quite a few peeps.

BE*, if your exchange is enabled and your line is good enough. As an ISP I've found them first rate. Their CS is in bulgaria, but contrary to my other experiences with indian call centres, I have found these people to be excellent.

Submit a ticket and they will always work WITH you to get any problem sorted. They are willing to try technical tweaks, they know what theyre talking about and are very very helpful.

Can't recommend them highly enough if I'm honest.

Rupert (RWood) here. Is it OK to upload a few shots that have already appeared in a non-photography forum? (it was UKWW, the weather forum).

Anybody that holds a camera is a real photographer here, its only levels of experience that make a shot different, and how would we learn if we didnt put pics up and ask for advice or comments on them ! :) welcome aboard :)

quick question: what sort of size is most prefered when posting pictures, like 800x600? 1024x768? etc
 
The rules are, if you're showing your pictures directly in a post, then the maximum size is 800 pixels along the longest edge.

Above that, and you provide a clickable link instead :)

hello everyone....yes new here.....love viewing all the great pics.....although i find that most my pics are too high of mega bites to load???? still new at all this
