Hello all
I'm making a return to photography after a number of years at the ripe old age of 61. My first ever SLR was a Pentax MX ( which I still have ) but I subsequently went with Nikon. Last year I traded all my Nikon film gear in to buy a used D700 body and a new 50mm and 85mm lens. I find the digital 'thing' quite complex in some respects. I soon got to grips with the basics of the camera but as for 'post production' I find it relies on ones knowledge of computers and the various software that is available. I have no real experience of this yet - I just upload my pics to my laptop and view them there. I love the immediacy of digital photography but having been used to film before, I am still quite selective with my shooting, which is a good thing I guess ? Anyway, street photography appeals to me though I haven't done much of it yet. Portraiture and wildlife appeals too, and landscapes to an extent. If I have to label myself I'd say I have a good grasp of photography basics but a 'digital newbie' in most respects. Looking forward to learning more. Recently bought a Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR 11 and hoping to use it with some success eventually. Robins in the garden so far ! but it's a start at least
