Any one??

You'll have to be mire specific as there are different incarnations of those lenses, from cheap and crappy to more expensive.
Usually dependant on if the maximum dof changes and from what range.
ID some lenses you're actually thinking about then you'll get responses

If you're a novice go with the Nikon 16-85 if you're flush, or the 18-105 if you're not, as a walkabout

If you want more zoom ability consider an 18-200 but that suffers with lens distortion apparently at shorter focal lengths

I use an 18-55 and 55-200 VR combo which works well but obviously needs a lens change sometimes which requires a bit of planning ahead

Really depends on what you're planning to photograph and what your budget is.

It absolutely has to be the 18-200mm.

For walkabout there is nothing that comes close.

Stupidly sharp (only edge sharpness improves upon stopping down), good VR, fast AF, reasonably compact for what it is.

When I'm out and about it's the only lens I need.

It does have a bit of barrel distortion at 18mm but this is easily corrected and has never stopped me taking a shot at the wide end.

What he said.

I am 100% certain the lens Phil has is a very sharp lens :p as that exact lens was mine!

Although having been using 24-105L, I now think the 18-135mm would be good enough, save a bit of weight.

It really depends on what you usually shoot and what your budget is? If you shoot everything and want to have a wide angle and a telephoto zoom, then the 18-200mm cannot be beaten for pure convenience! Not the fastest lens but super handy.
