Hello :)

I treated myself to a canon 500D before xmas with a 70-300mm USM IS lens.
I love taking photo's of just about anything, but I'm an avid motorcyclist, so I go to lots of race meetings and track days. So right now, it's mainly bikes and birds!
My kit lens wasn't really giving me the results I wanted, and I'm yet to use my 300mm lens, but hopefully the results will be better!

I started with the 500D an 70-300 IS USM, it's a cracking combo, look forward to seeing your shots.

I've just been taking a look at some of the motorsport pics on here and now I'm reluctant to post mine!! It looks like you have some pro's here!

hi tori, welcome to the forum, i too am into my motorcycles, and love taking shots at race meets, i attend snetterton a fair bit, i go to trackdays for practice, that way i know i will get some really good shot when the real racing is on, Guy.

I went to Snetterton for bsb last season courtesy of MSS Kawasaki (The VIP treatment!) I do some of the club racing days (Derby Phoenix and Thundersport GB) but I've not photographed at a trackday yet. Do you go when friends are riding? Or can you just pay to get in to the track? I'm not sure how that works?

My first planned outing isn't until the season starts so I'm getting cabin fever here! Although I did get out on my own bike today for the first time this season which just feels great :)
 
when i go to trackdays at any track its free to get in if you are just watching, i was also at bsb last season at snetterton, cadwell park and mallory park, i am just looking to get a new bike, as i sold mine after an accident at work 2years ago, cant wait to get back on a bike. i also follow derby phoenix and thundersport GB, i know peter baker current champion in thundersport GB.
 
Ahh brilliant, Club racing is great! Lots of elbows and egos! Well, if you go this year, give me a shout? I'll be at Snet, Hatch and maybe some others this season.

What number is Peter Baker? I think I have his pic...lol

Yes please do give me a shout, it'd be nice to have some company. I normally go with a friend who marshalls so I'm left to my own devices alot :)
 
i dont know him, but i have seen the bikes before, what bike do you ride then?
 
I did as you suggested and posted some pics up. I hoped someone might have posted some constructive comments but alas nothing. I'm kind of regretting posting now, especially when you're self conscious of your pictures not being as good as the 'pro's' on here.
 
Sometimes it takes a while for crit to be coming but bear with it am sure someone will be along to have a look :)

Don't be Self concious, art is in the eye of the beholder as they say, if you like it that is whats important at the end of the day, if someone can point out a way to improve it then all the better but don't take it to heart, others opinions aren't the be all and end all...
