I use a very low spec canon A520, with 4 mega pixels ! so have to do most pics VERY close up. Hence lots of insects and flowers. I was really pleased with my work until i started looking at stuff on this site. I need help, badly, and a lot of new equipment me thinks !!!!!

I have also recently started getting personal tuition from a professional (compared to me anyway). He lets me caddy for him too ! He uses a Nikon D200 now, very nice piece of equipment. so I can now use his D70 when we play together. He is a regular on this site, can you guess who it is ?

Hello there :) I'm a bit confused by your opening statement though. Low spec Canon with 4mp and you have to do everything close up? You should be fine with most things surely?

Sorry, what I meant was, that only havng 4mp and a 3x optical zoom I need to get quite close to subjects. In other words there isnt much scope for cropping afterwards. Tried motor racing on boxing day and objects were a spec in the distance !!! the panning was tricky too, kept missing the b@*>dy things !

It does have a good macro lens tho, which is good. got a bril shot of shagging ladybirds (NOT me !!!) on a daisy, will share it sometime soon. still learning ! :bonk:
 
Do I know you? :) I get ya know. I thought you meant you could only do macros with it and that it wasn't any good at landscapes. :)

Hmm. Someone with a D200 + D70 who knows me as cyk... Any more clues? I'm only known as that on IRC and I can't think of anyone with a D200 + D70 on IRC.

Hi Jonnyreb, guess you know joe T quite well then !!!! he is actually quite complimentary about my canon, I got a good deal and it has some good features for a little camera, came with a selphy printer too, don't use that much now tho.:)

Joe and I have sparred a few times here on various merits of Canon v. Nikon. Never had the pleasure though.

Did I just infer there were merits to Nikon??:gag:

Depends on how you are trying but in short use the little mountain picture above the text input box and just insert your pics URL into the box and clicky OK ... :thinking: ... sounds right ... ;)
