Hello I'm new to the site

Hi

My name is Jan and I'm new to the forum. My main area of interest has always been urban landscapes but since having a baby last year my main focus is now my little girl I want to learn about portrait photography.

I have a Canon 450D and a Tamron 18-270mm 1:3.5-6.3. I've been struggling to get good indoor photos of her (I don't like using the flash) and think a new lens might be the answer but I don't know what to buy.

Any advice would be appreciated

If you need some help getting into indoor photography, we have a helpful Talk Basics section where there are plenty of helpers to get you started.
There's also a very active Talk Equipment sub forum if you want specific help on lenses etc.
