Hi, This is my first time on here, eek.

I've just finished an Open University Course in Digital Photography, just waiting for the end of course assignment results.

I used a Olympus E410, but it's my husband so I guess I need to get my own, any ideas ??? Canon or Nikon ??

Whilst I am biased towards Nikon I have to say, in all seriousness, go for what feels right in your hands, Vanessa.
I have only ever owned Nikon and Pentax. I have no experience of Canon DSLR.
 
Hi Vanessa, welcome from another talk photography newbie :)

I agree with comments with regard to trying different manufactures cameras at an unbiased retailer (they do exist).
Find out which camera feels best to handle and shoot with and then consider what is on offer specification and performance wise given your budget. I actually wouldn't discount Oly either they make some great kit and you are used to using one :)
 
Hi Vanessa, welcome to the forum

Hope your assignment results are ok, i have a Nikon D90, i think its a great camera and would recommend.

There are a few members here on the south coast and we pop out sometime together for a photo shoot, if interested keep an eye out in the meeting section you will be more than welcome to join us anytime.

any old camera...once you are master of it...move up if really necessary
cant recommend any since i feel in the right hands...they all are good
