Been looking through some forum threads for a few weeks now and decided to come and join up....have been taking pics for a couple of years now after buying a small digital to take pics when I was out walking...my 1st camera was a pansonic lumix (4 mega pixel) then I bought a canon S3i which had a zoom and could take videos...then whilst out walking the dog I bumped into a guy with something rather large on the end of an impressive looking camera...got chatting to him and found he was into taking pics of birds. Loved seeing Red kites whilst I was out walking and he showed me website that he posted pics to...I was hooked...took the plunge about 2 years ago and bought my 1st DSLR, a Canon Rebel Xti and a 2nd hand Sigma 135-400m lens....have recvently sold these and now own a 50D and in the last few weeks a 2nd hand 5D. Birds n landscapes are my favourite subject matter but would class myself as a real novice - I take 400 shots and generally 1 or 2 are ok... :shake: My processing skills are not very good either but sometimes I push the sliders and get lucky...ish !!
Went to a local nature reserve and took some bird shots...only lasted an houir down there though as it was freezing cold and reckon i have only just warmed up.
