Hello from Yorkshire

have had a Sony A57 for a few months and not really had time to use it other than standard family shots using the auto modes.....starting reading some articles recently and I'm now reading as much as I can (still quite confused)....I only have the kit 18-55 lens and from what I have heard it is pretty rubbish.

Just to have something to 'learn' on I have just got some prime 58mm and 135mm manual lenses. I love the feel of the metal over the plastic. Played around with the 58 today and got (for me) a nice shot. Would love to hear what the faults with it are as I have no idea what to look for

I see that you've found the "nature - wild and free" section - which is where I was just about to point you to get some feedback on your shot.
Very well done getting it so well focused in flight BTW!!!
Unfortunately I've had to break the image to a link for now. There are some image size limits for the forum, otherwise everything starts to fall over. Feel free to edit your post to put a resized version up - if it had been hosted on Flickr etc I'd have changed it to a smaller one for you, but I can't do that with a Dropbox link.

Anyway, it's good to have you here and I hope you're enjoying the camera now that you're starting to move out of auto. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
