Hello from Wirral

Good afternoon everyone, new to the forum and new to the world of photography.

Thanks to a change in lifestyle (less sitting on my backside all day, more getting out and about on foot and on 2 wheels) I've decided that photography would be a perfect hobby to accompany my activities. After much deliberation over which make & model to pick up I went ahead and bought myself a Nikon D5100 with the kit 18-55mm lens.

Since then I've immersed myself in books, magazines & websites to try and pick up tips and make sense of what at first seemed like mumbo-jumbo. That's how I stumbled upon this website and after lurking a bit I thought I'd sign up.

So, here I am. I look forward to hanging around here a bit more, sharing some of my efforts and picking up some tips along the way.
