Hi everyone. :)

I've been into photography for many years now, but for personal reasons I haven't been much in the mood for the last 10 months or so. I'm not sure when I'll be taking photos again but for now I'd at least like to make new friends who also enjoy photography, and hopefully I'll get back into it soon. I already have some nice pictures I'd like to share at some point at least.

I'm 39 years old and live in Rustington, which is part of Littlehampton in West Sussex. I live very close to the sea and have got many coastal shots, particularly at sunset, which I really love.

I did a Google search for photography forums and this one came out top, and it does seem to have a lot of members, which is great! So I hope to get to know some of you soon. :)

I'm in East Sussex and I have a sister and brother-in-law who live in Rustington :-)

Marc - Oh someone else who lives in Rustington? I thought I was the only one! Well the only one younger than 85 anyway. :) I would ask your relatives names but I honestly don't know anyone by name, so I wouldn't know them unfortunately. One day I plan to actually get to know some local people! I'd like to get to know the girl in the shoe shop first - But that's another subject. ;)

Hi Geoff

I'm also new round here, I currently live in Cheshire but was born and brought up in Sussex so I know Rustington very well. In fact I was there a couple of months ago at a family party (and they're all under 85 though I do know what you mean!). I really wanted to get some shots on the beach but it was one of our wonderful English summer days (very wet and very windy!).

Hope you find some inspiration on the forum to get out and about taking photo's again.
 
Hi Jools, thank you for saying hello. Is Cheshire where the Cheddar caves are? Or am I confusing it with somewhere else? If so, then I remember going there years ago and liked it very much. That was without a camera unfortunately.

Not many people even from West Sussex have heard of Rustington. :) In fact I recently wrote to someone in East Preston who hadn't heard of it, which amazed me as it's the town next door! :) That's a shame the weather let you down while you were here recently. I have taken so many photos from the beach here that I have run out of new ideas. Although I'll never get bored of the winter sunsets and the way the sun lights up the sand and the wooden groynes.

Thank you, I'm already feeling more like getting back into taking photos thanks to these forums. It's nice also to see some of my own photos that I haven't seen for a while. :)
