Hello everyone!
I've been interested in photography for quite a few years, been a bit of a camera junkie in the past, owning all sorts, but have settled on Canon now. Currently have the 5DII, and had the 5D before it.
I've had my photos up on microstock sites for a few years, started by submitting to all of them, but then went exclusive with iStockphoto several years ago. To be honest I've not got that many photos on there, as I've always been busy with other stuff, but it makes me a nice part time income every month.
Things have changed quite a bit though, and I'm now thinking of doing photography full time. We have no room at home to do any photography, so I'm thinking of setting up a shop/studio and spending some time increasing my istock portfolio enough to pay the bills, then opening up for portraits, commercial work, etc.
I've been reading through some of the threads on here since I found the forum a couple of days ago, and there's a wealth of information here that has already helped me in terms of getting some better ideas for a business plan. So, thanks to all those who share their knowledge so generously.
I'm sure that there are plenty on here who are far more qualified to offer advice than me, however, if I can reciprocate in any way, I'm only too happy to help!
I'm not sure if I can post a link to my iStock portfolio on here, but if you would like to see it, please let me know. Unfortunately it's the only place online that I have my photos, but looking at setting a website up in the next few weeks.
Melanie
