Hello everybody


I am an amateur Photographer who has been pottering about with my dads old SLRs for years.

I had been playing about with a Fujifilm Finepix s3000 for a few years and last Xmas coaxed a Sony a230 out of the now wife.

I am looking to massively improve the quality of my photos, so when a friend recommended TP I took the opportunity.

It looks like a load of people on here are at a vastly experienced level so hopefully I will learn loads.

Hello one and all! I used to stay in dundee, Tayport, Wellbank, and Newport on Tay (now down by Dunfermline) so know the area well!
 
Hi;

Not wanting to post this in any of the proper forums and not quite ready to bother the mods with this.

Am I missing something? There are certain forums, classified for example, that I am denied permission to and also the photo tab on people's profiles (including my own).
I have clicked the link sent, and as far as I know tp has my correct email

Just wonder if anyone can enlighten me before I ask the mods

Hi Derek - welcome to TP from just up the road (Abernethy)

From memory the classifieds require a minimum criterea of 60 days membership and 25 posts.

Phil is correct about the classifieds criteria.
There's an FAQ about it here which explains in more detail.

You should be able to view members' gallery spaces on the forum though.
I assume that you're either clicking on their user name on the left next to their post and then selecting "View xxx's gallery" or clicking the user name, selecting "view public profile" and then selecting "view gallery" from there ???
What are you seeing on screen when you do that?

NB: Not many members actually use their galleries, but try it again with mine because I know I have some forum related stuff saved in there.

I'm currently on the iPhone app and can go into users profile but when I click on the photos tab at the bottom I get a permission denial, even on yours sarahlee
 
I've just went onto the laptop to see if that helped and its not letting me log in and asking me to register,
So I redid all that and it won't allow it because its saying the email address is already in use (namel by me!)

Any ideas?

Was starting to think that I ha a hideously bad camera simply because Noone else seems to have sonys.

Not at all- its not the camera its the person behind it that counts, have abrowse through my web site and Flickr( click on the blue links below) and you'll see Sony's do take cracking images
