Hi everyone, My name is Alan and Im a total newbie to digital photography.Last year I bought a nikon d3100 and the lenses I have with this are: 18-55/55-200/and a fixed 50mm 1.8. I have also just purchased a Sigma EF530 DG Super, flashgun. So this is my kit so far but getting results is so hard and I read lots of photography magazines but can't seem to get to grips with the jargon that goes on.Im very experienced with adobe photoshop and have been doing graphic design for over 12 years but taking photos is something else!!!
Of course I have taken some good photos with my camera but really don't know how!! lol
Im joining this forum to try and get some basic advice especially on modes and flash gun set up. Im really good with hi tech stuff normally as Ive been a pro musician for over 30 years so electronic equipment is not normally an issue and I read manuals easily but Im struggling with photography modes/jargon and just need somethings explained in laymans terms. So, any advice is good advice as far as I'm concerned.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for everyone in the next few weeks, looking for a camera club near to me lately but not found any yet.
Any suggestions of links or books that you might think will explain things easily are welcome!
Thats it
My questions will follow ,hope I dont annoy you all . . lol
Alan
